Do you ever read someone’s blog post, really want to comment on it, and have no idea what to say? I do this all the time, especially with a few specific writers. I think about it, type, and delete. Think about it, type, and delete. Everything I can think to say seems pointless or stupid.

No one wants to read that.

That’s what my brain tells me. No one wants to read that. That’s stupid. Don’t post that. And in this case, I usually end up listening. I don’t really know anything about that. My perspective couldn’t possibly be valuable. Or nothing I post could be helpful or worth reading.

So I don’t post anything.

Self-defeating mentality? Yeah, I know. That doesn’t mean it’s wrong. Even though it’s a distorted perspective, it can still be right sometimes. And that’s how it gets me.
